I'm Still Growing

James 1:2-4
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Everything in this world has a purpose for which it was created: animals, people, and vegetation. In most cases, that specific thing has to go through some intricate growth process. Take the flower for instance: A flower does not sprout in the matter of seconds nor is it fabricated or comes prepackaged. It starts as a seed that must be planted, watered, and cared for before it begins to bloom.

You too must go through a growth process before fulfilling your eternal purpose. We love to run ahead of God and neglect His perfect work that must be done within us before we live out purposes. We begin to gain some momentum at life’s beauty of progression, then subconsciously start to think, “This isn’t too bad, I think I got it from here.” That’s where we run into a huge brick wall and start to think, “Maybe I wasn’t really ready.” There’s a season for everything; a season for growth and a season to produce. Don’t neglect your season of growth and prematurely open a door that you were never meant to open! It's okay to stop and reflect on who you are and where you are in your current circumstance and pull back on somethings if needed. That alone shows maturity and growth. Being able to realize that "Maybe this isn't my season for 'this'", speaks volumes and shows your humility towards God's perfect plan for you. Wait on Him and let the maturing process take its course.
